Hamlet door

My first ever community piece!! This was a commission piece through peace club at my school, that came to us from my English teacher at the time. This is just the first of many doors that we have painted around our high school, and was done in June of 2022, and as of right now (October 2023) we have another 10 doors we are painting after school and on lunches and spares.

This piece specifically means a whole lot to me, as it is what got me into peace club and painting for more than just myself. I used to be against group works and collaboration in an art piece but through peace club and murals like this I’ve learned that not only are they enjoyable for the people involved in the making, but they can speak to everyone who sees them especially when they’re in a diverse and public space, like a high-school. I’ve also learned to collaborate my peers and (as I do tend to be a control freak) listen to others and make something truly great with multiple brains instead of just my own.
