Animation Office Plan
My client for the commercial unit is a video game firm that designs, models, and produces video games. When choosing furniture i tried to be mindful of the fact that there would be not only computer work being done but also there would be physical drafts and drawings being made, that would require a lot of space. Because of that i made sure to add a mix of cubicle for one person when they need to focus as well as desks with no cubicle that multiple people could work at when doing large drafts of characters, scenes, storyboards, and such. It is also the reason i have a second conference table outside of the conference room. This profession requires a lot of collaborative work and so the people who work at the firm need a space to work together on projects. I also didn't put desktops on every single desk because as i said not everybody is working on the computer all the time, or for people like me who prefer various softwares to be on laptop rather than having to carry usb keys everywhere with me. as well as theres some things that when switching over computers it can damage the files and thats not ideal for a fast paced company like this.
In addition to not having a computer on all of them, i also didn't use assigned desks because i know lots of companies don't do that anymore. I know my dads company doesnt have assignment desks because most people work from home, so you could have 3 different people with the same desk but they wouldnt all be there on the same day. And if your a 3D modeler, the only paperwork you do is preliminary sketches and those can be scanned and emailed if need be, so theres no reason for everyone to be in the office everyday if they don't have or want to be.
