Hand Study

This is a hand study I did while preparing for college portfolios, I did 22 thumbnails prioritizing form and studying the shape and movements of hands and how they’re constructed. These thumbnails lead up to one final drawing I did on hands, which is the more finished drawing of the hands cutting an apple. In my thumbnails you can see construction lines in blue, and then some values and defining lines overtop in graphite to give them more depth and a more finished look along with practice in values. There’s also my notes in green, which I use to dissect my thumbnail, and note the things to pay more attention to if i chose that pose as my final drawing.
